དེབ་ཀྱི་རྒྱབ་ཤ།

A Tibetan book cover made of wood and covered with heavy gilding. The cover is an excellent example of craftsmanship regarding skilled carving in Tibet. Primary motif is an amita vase from which emanate flowing vines. Foliate scrollwork is carved about the vase as is a lotus border. Two crossed lines form a diamond around the vase and triangles at each end of the piece. Some blue pigment is used to decorate jewels on what is predominately a gilt surface.
