མི་ལ་རས་པ་

Framed tangka depicting Milarepa; painted in an eastern Tibetan style. In the spacious landscape typical of this school are depicted various scenes in the life of Tibet”s greatest yogi and poet. The principal figure is depicted in flowing white cotton robes sitting within a mountainous cave. Jewel offerings are at his feet. Stylistically, this painting relates to paintings in eastern Tibet during the late 17th to early 18th century.
