Sakya Lama

ས་སྐྱ་བླ་མ།

Principal Lama wearing the red hat sitting on a gold decorated throne. He wears orange and red robes covered by a gold decorated cape. An offering table sits in the bottom of the throne. To his lower right sits another Lama sitting on a similar throne. Three figures are depicted sitting below the offering table. In the top of the painting is Buddha sitting on a lotus base and two more Lamas. This painting is done in an Eastern Tibetan style with much open space in palette. Open landscape elements such as this are prominent in East Tibet. There are inscriptions in Uchen script next to the Lamas. They are identifiable, making this an important historical painting.
