This portrait of the Sharmapa is painted in the eastern Tibetan Karma Gadri style as the landscape elements indicate. The main figure is seated on a cushion with an offering of Buddhist jewels before him. An inscription painted below identifies him as [Scharmapa Cokyi Wangchuck]. His aureole is balanced on either side with clouds. Delicate shading is utilized in the composition of the sky. The central figure wears flowing robes and the appropriate red hat of the Sharmapa.
