An unusually large painting of Guru Rinpoche which appears to have a central Tibetan origin. He is seated on a white double-lotus base holding a vajra and skull cup. His garments fold gracefully over his arms and legs and his hair drapes over shoulders. His Indian and Tibetan consorts Mandarava and Yeshe Tsogyal stand to his right and left sides. Just below Padmasambava is a wrathful red turelay deity who is crown by an unusual standing image of a blue Buddha( Skt. Samatrabhadra, Tib. Kundu Zangpo) The balance of the painting is filled with various manifestations of Guru RInpoche as well as numerous dharmapalas and other deities popular in the Nyingmapa sect of Buddhism .
